My profession is not regulated
It is not always necessary to have authorization or recognition before you start working. If you can't find your profession on the list, you most likely don't need authorization or recognition.

You can choose to apply for jobs without our recognition, and it’s advisable to translate your educational documents so employers understand their content. Applying for recognition with us is voluntary, and we have three voluntary schemes designed to assist you in entering the Norwegian labor market.
It is up to each employer to decide whether they require you to have recognition from us, and a recognition from us can be useful for:
- Job position- and salary placement.
- Confirmation that your education is legitimate.
- Equating or aligning your foreign education with Norwegian education.
