UTFORSK 2024 webinar for applicants and partners in the Americas
In this webinar you will learn more about the upcoming call for applications in the UTFORSK-programme, which funds educational collaboration between higher educational institutions in Norway and partners in Brazil, Canada, China, India, Japan, South Korea, South Africa and the USA. This webinar is directed towards partners in the Americas, with examples from Brazil, Canada and USA, but is open for participants from other regions.

You will meet coordinators from previously funded UTFORSK projects with partners in the Americas and Councellors for Science, Innovation and Higher Education, working at Norwegian Embassies and Innovation Norway offices in Brazil, Canada and the USA:
- Radina Trengereid, Councelor for Science, Technology and Higher Education at the Norwegian Embassy in Washington
- Line Blåsås Lønnum, Adviser for Business Promotion, Research and Higher Education at the Norwegian Embassy in Ottawa, and Laura Dalby, Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner, Embassy of Canada in Norway
- Torkjell Leira, Councellor for Innovation, Research and Higher Education at the Innovation Norway office in Rio de Janeiro
- Associate professor Lars Gansel, works at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and will tell about two projects with Brazil within aquaculture, biology and use of digital learning in education. He will present together with his Brazilian partner, Fabiano Bendhack, from Federal University of Paraná
- Professor Maneesh Singh, works at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and will together with one of his partners, Dr. Chetan Kulkarni (from KBR Inc., NASA Ames Research Centre in USA), tell about the project "Global Collaborative Research Based Education for Enhancing Performance of Wind Farms (EduWind)"
The presentations (the first hour) will be recorded. The last 15 minutes will be open for questions and will not be recorded. Please keep your camera off for the first hour if you not wish to be visible on the recording.
The UTFORSK programme is generally open to all academic fields and all higher educational levels, from Bachelor to PhD.
In this particular call, the UTFORSK 2024 Call for applications, parts of the funds (15 out of 90 MNOK) have been earmarked for projects that clearly fall within the thematic fields of “oceans and coastal areas” or “climate, enviroment and energy.” The projects which can apply for these earmarked funds must collaborate within study programmes for “ocean-based industries and the management and understanding of oceans and coastal areas” or within study programmes in the field of “climate, environment and energy”.
